A bomber jacket is a style of jacket. It’s a style that originated in World War II when traditional military clothing such as the cotton flight jackets worn by the British Royal Air Force was produced for combat use. The word “bomber” was originally used to refer to aircraft that dropped bombs during the war, hence the name.
